The Northwest Evaluation Association Measures of Academic Progress are compute-adaptive assessments for benchmarking student progress in ELA, math and science. The science assessment measures student progress in two areas: general science and concepts and processes, for grades 3-12.
Cons: Not aligned to the standards I teach • Does not assess higher-order thinking • Misses growth of some students, such as those far below and/or far above grade level • Takes students too long to complete
Pros: Results returned quickly
Cons: Difficult to administer • Doesn't help me track my students' learning gains over time • It is hard to use the data • Is not helpful to my professional growth as a teacher
Does not apply beyond 10th grade. Based too much on life science and the physical science questions are not aligned to the Ohio Standards.

Strictly a pursuit of random factoids. Strange laundry list of disintegrated learning goals. Many questions poorly worded. Data does not provide useful information. Students disengage from testing process within a few minutes.
